Introducing the Canton Community Fund

President Chris Angus, portraitFor nearly fifteen years, the Canton Community Fund has engaged with the people of Canton, energizing many groups, individuals and initiatives. You will find a constantly changing roster of testimonials on our website from many of these.

Operating under the auspices of the Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF), the Canton Fund is considered the model for other local community funds to emulate. You can read NNYCF Director Rande Richardson’s comments about The Canton Fund elsewhere on our website.

Also be sure to check out our changing collection of historical photos of Canton, provided courtesy of Dennis Barr who, working with Village Historian Linda Casserly, has renewed and restored a fascinating collection of archival photos. Canton has a rich history of growth, evolving educational institutions and famous residents, including Henry J. Rushton, world-famous boat-builder, and the artist Frederic Remington.

Unlike most service groups, the Canton Fund is open to any sort of appeal that aims to sustain or improve the life of the community. Please take a moment to check out our site. I know you will be impressed at the wide variety of programs the Fund has initiated or supported.

Please consider becoming a donor to the Canton Fund or establishing a bequest for the Fund. If you have fond memories of growing up in small-town America, consider how important the Canton Community Fund has become to maintaining that quality of life. Your tax-deductible gift will help us continue efforts to keep Canton an exciting and vibrant place to live.
